Some Facts About Cats
Jasper's New Life
According to Jasper's owner, Jasper is settling in quite well. Apparently he is fascinated in the TV and loves playing with the Christmas decorations! Hopefully, I will be able to visit Jasper's new home soon, and see how he's doing!

Kitten Care chapter five
Chapter Five- tips about cat care
After learning all about caring for your own pet kitten, you can learn some more tips in this chapter.
If you are worried of your cat running away, you can get a microchip placed in your pet. If someone finds your kitten, they can bring it to a vet and the vet can scan the microchip and see where the kitten lives and who owns it.
If you are introducing your new kitten to another pet, you should probably do it during a meal, so that the animals will be more interested in the food than each other and less likely to start fighting.
If you have more than one cat, they should probably have two bowls each, so that they won't have a fight over the food and drink, and will each have equal amounts.
You should write the kittens address on its collar tag, if it wears a collar.
Kittens with long fur need to be brushed- don't use a normal brush to do this. You can buy pet brushes in most pet shops.
Most cats like drinking milk, but it isn't very healthy for them. You can buy cat milk in most pet shops. Cat milk is specially formulated for cats, and is much healthier for them.
You can get special cat shampoo powder for your kitten. Do not add any water to the powder and be sure to follow the instructions on the label.

Kitten Care chater four
Chapter Four- behaviour
Cats have many interesting habits and behaviours.
If a kitten wants to be fed, sometimes it will meow loudly to get your attention.
Sometimes if a kitten needs to use the litter tray, it will start scratching at the ground. If this happens you should pick the kitten up and bring it to the litter tray.
When kittens are play-hunting, they may prick up their ears and shake their whole body.
To tell if your kitten is healthy or not, check if its coat and eyes are healthy-looking and bright. If it looks as though it could be ill, you should bring the kitten to a vet.
Kittens sometimes stick their tails straight up to show that they are happy or playing.
If a cat arches its back, it means it is angry or scared.
They may also fluff up their furr to make themselves look bigger and more threatening.

Kitten Care chapter three
Chapter Three- caring for a kitten
After obtaining the correct supplies, the next step is using them to care for your new pet.
EATING
Your kitten could need 2-4 feedings a day. After the kitten is 4-6 months old, start giving it less food, until they are eating 2 meals a day.
Depending on its age, it can eat dry food or tinned food. It should tell you on the label how old the kitten needs to be to eat the food. If your kitten is eating dry food, it will need more water. Remember to give your cat something to drink too!
SLEEPING
Your kitten will sleep in the cat basket. If the kitten is having trouble settling down, you could put a warm hot watter bottle in their bed- this will remind them of sleeping with their mother and will make them calmer.
Kittens don't need lots of warm blankets, like us; your kitten should be fine without any.
PLAYING
Kittens love to play with things!
Your kitten will probably start playing with an toys you leave out for it.
Cats love practicing hunting by chasing pieces of string you drag around for them to follow! They also like chasing balls across the floor!
USING THE LITTER TRAY
The kitten may not know what a litter tray is, or how to use it! Make sure you show it where the litter tray is when you first bring your kitten home. And try not to be too angry if the kitten does a little "accident" on the floor- the kitten might just be a bit nervous. Try to show the kitten that you are not happy and train it not to do this any more.
Now that you know how to look after your new kitten, the next chapter will explain some kitten habits and behaviour.

When you are getting a kitten, whether from a friend or a petshop, you should make sure that the kitten is the right one for you.
Make sure that the kitten will be happy in your home- do you have any pets that might frighten the cat? Do you live near a busy road? Do you know enough about cats? Can you afford it?
Make sure that you have all the equipment you need.
Can you afford it if the cat needs to go to the vets?
If you want a particular colour of cat, it may take some time to find find one, so try not to be too choosey.

Goodbye, Jasper-Catkin!
As much as I will miss him, I am glad that Jasper-Catkin will be going to his (soon to be fun-filled!) new home today.
Catkin has already met his new "owner" and he seems to have made friends with them already.
Look out for news from Jasper on the blog in the future- now Jasper's owner will be blogging too!

Home Sweet Home
As I have told you, the kittens have already found good homes, and (this is the part I haven't told you) new names.
Smudge is Hestia's new name, and Catkin will be named Jasper! I will be keeping Mystery as my own pet, so she has no new name. Their names are so cute, and I think that these names suit the kittens very much.

Christmas Kittens
The kittens- crazy little things that they are!- love climbing the Christmas tree! Naughty as this is, the Christmas tree does make a good play-toy as far as they're concerned; it has tinsel to catch, baubles to play with and thick plastic branches to climb on! Those crazy little kittens!

Little Clones
The kittens were being sooo funny! Hestia and Mystery were sitting side by side and looking in the same directions at the same time- the little clones!

Kitten alarm
In the night time, you can hear this pattering noise, like rain. Then, if you go down stairs, you can see that it's just the kittens running about like lunatics! They go absolutely crazy, and always at the exact same time! It's like some kind of crazy kitten alarm!

Short and sweet
When I let Marshmallow (another one of my cats) inside, he acts all shy around the kittens. I don't know why he does this. Before the kittens were born, Dot (my nickname for Marshmallow) was the smallest and youngest of all my cats. Maybe he misses being the littlest! Poor Marshmallow! But he's still one of the cutest cats I know!!!

More about the kittens
The kittens were born on the 6th of October.
They will be 8 weeks old tomorrow, the 1st of December!

Milk Time
Sometimes, when the kittens are suckling Lady's milk, Lady just stands up and leaves the kittens lying in a furry heap on the ground!
It looks really funny, and the kittens don't seem to mind! But still, I don't think I would like it very much! If you come into the room and see them all piled up like that, you can easily tell what happened!

About Mystery
Mystery is pale grey with faint tabby stripes. She is gentle and lady-like, just like Lady, but that doesn't mean she doesn't like adventure! Mystery loves exploring- even inside the dish washer and the washing machine! She loves playing games with her brothers and she was probably the first kitten in the litter to learn how to walk.

About Catkin
Catkin is a tabby, just like his mum! He likes to bite things- but don't worry, he doesn't bite very hard- and he can find fun in just about anything! He likes licking himself lots, and he always looks so cute! Sometimes if Lady Georgina is sitting on a chair, Catkin will jump up and try to catch her tail! He is a little bit naughty but those big blue eyes of his make it impossible to be angry with him!

About Hestia
It is hard to work out what colour Hestia is- he's a sort of splotchy mixture of brown and gold and tabby and black! He's utterly cute, and no, he isn't fat he's just fluffy!
Hestia loves it if you roll a pen or pencil across the floor for him to chase! It is hard to tell sometimes if he is sleepy or not- you could find him all cuddled up in the cat-carrier one minute and then come back the next and find him running about, in the middle of a big game with the rest of the kittens!
